Dr Fernando studied extensively to be highly qualified in multiple dental disciplines for excellent family and emergency care. He combines his experience and compassionate approach with an outstanding team of dental professionals. Each of us is committed to achieving the best results for our patients.

Dr Emil Fernando leads the team at Port Pacific Dental, practising enthusiastically and committed to creating and maintaining beautiful smiles. He earned both a Bachelor of Dentistry and Master of Dentistry from La Trobe in Melbourne. He also attained a Bachelor of Medical Radiation/Nuclear Medicine from RMIT in Melbourne. He has worked in many public hospitals and private practices around Australia, gaining many years of experience treating patients.
He specialises in gentle dental treatments and has significant experience working with anxious people. He is friendly and professional and adept at providing dental education to people. Dr Fernando and his team also keep up with the latest technology to improve treatment outcomes with a comfortable and caring approach to put patients at ease.

- Laser surgery and soft tissue laser dentistry at the America Laser Study Club
- Aesthetic dentistry at Griffith University

Dr Fernando is local to Port Macquarie and is a current member of the Australian Dental Association.
In his free time, Dr Fernando appreciates mingling with the local community and enjoying events around town. He also loves pets, especially dogs. One of his favourite places to relax is at local beaches.

Dr Shayla Truong is a compassionate and dedicated member of the team, committed to providing gentle and caring dental care for patients of all ages. She completed her dental qualifications at the University of Sydney and has worked across several major public dental hospitals, including Westmead Centre for Oral Health, Sydney Dental Hospital, and Campbelltown Hospital Dental Centre.
Known for her warm and approachable manner, Dr Truong is particularly skilled at helping patients feel at ease—especially those who may be feeling anxious about their visit. Her calm, gentle approach ensures that every patient receives personalised care in a comfortable and reassuring environment.

Dr Truong is passionate about continuing education and stays up to date with the latest techniques and technologies to deliver high-quality dental care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Truong enjoys exploring beaches with her dog, finding inspiration in nature’s calm and beauty. She’s also an avid reader and enjoys crocheting handmade plushies in her spare time—a creative hobby that reflects her attention to detail and love of bringing smiles to others.
